High School Rowing


ILRC is home to both the Mayfield Secondary School and Orangeville District Secondary School rowing teams. The goal of high school rowing is to develop athletic skills, physical fitness, improved self-esteem, and the value of working as a team. Many of our high school rowers have gone on to row in varsity boats at university or to represent Canada internationally. For a list of regatta dates, please check out our calendar.

Eligibility: Grade 9-12 students, no rowing experience required. Mandatory swim test.

Fees: $325 (plus applicable regatta fees).

Dates: April - June (Mon-Fri)

  5:15 am - Mayfield        6:15 am - Orangeville

Summer Youth Rowing

If you are an experienced rower (High School/Varsity Crew) and would like to continue rowing through the summer, ILRC offers two programs to suit your needs:




For rowers wanting to add to their racing experience. Skills development and training programs will be designed to fit each rowers needs and goals for the summer sprint regattas and fall head racing. Training opportunities are available during club open hours, with coaching offered twice per week.

Eligibility: Prior racing (rowing) experience.

Fees: $280 (plus applicable regatta fees).

Dates: June - October (coaching available Tuesday and Thursday evenings).

Skills Development

For those who wish to row throughout the summer and focus on technical development rather than competition. With coaching offered two days per week, participants will build on their existing skills to become more proficient rowers in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Eligibility: Prior rowing experience.

Fees: $280

Dates: June - October (coaching available Tuesday and Thursday evenings).
