First Launch
First Launch is a program Island Lake is piloting in conjunction with Row Ontario. First Launch is a 5 day program intended for youth aged 14 - 17 who would like to learn to row. Participants will be trained with the basic skills required to succeed in rowing. Sessions include skill outings, games/drills, exercises and safety practices.
Youth interested in furthering their rowing journey may continue with recreational or competitive rowing as recommended by our coaches.
Eligibility: Students, grade 9-11. While no rowing experience is required, participants must be able to swim and tread water.
Fee: $200 (plus RCA/RO fees - $240.70 total)
