Young Competitive Program

This year Island Lake Rowing club will have a program for young rowers who wish to compete in Junior A and B and Under 23 races. The goal of the program is to provide an opportunity for young rowers to further develop their rowing skills and experience and to continue rowing competition outside of the university and high school seasons.
This is not a learn to row program. Rowers must have a base of previous competitive rowing at high school nationals or university.
Rowing will be mainly in small boats. Training programs will be designed to fit with rowers targeted races for the summer. Races will probably include the CORAs the Henley and head races. The coaching program will be twice weekly with the addition of a few clinics by visiting coaches plus self coaching with videos. The club coaches will be Jen Meeker and Ralph Manktelow.
Young rowers who wish to row this summer but do not want to compete should join the non-competitive program -see club web site.
Cost is $225. Rowers will be registered with RCA and Row Ontario. Fees include coaching and use of ILRC facilities and equipment. Regatta fees are not included.
