Hurricane Barrie!

Although a real disappointment to the rowers and coaches, everyone seemed to accept that rowing is a sport that is dependent on the weather and seemed to enjoy themselves.  After a great start in which the ODSS Jr mens 72 kg 4 had a decisive first place win, there were many more good races and some first time race experiences until mid morning when the wind came up to the point of the water being unrowable and the regatta was terminated. The Barrie team organized a good regatta and our thanks goes out to them.
A side benefit to attending this regatta was the appreciation of how fortunate ILRC is to have the Island Lake to row on – yes the schools actually rowed every day of the season with out a weather issue.
